City v Newcastle(League) – Sun 30th March [4v0 win]

Met 10 or 12 City fans in Aberdeen airport which is great as half of them I don’t know. Spoke to John Booth and his wife from Ellon. They manage four games a season due to work commitments so it was good to catch up with them. Johns one the lucky ones who has never seen City beaten when he’s been to watch them. I do know people who have never seen them win, but that’s changing thankfully.

Met Des & Alan Fergie at the airport and took possession of the semi final tickets when we got to the ground.

Now the tram service is running it makes things a lot easier getting to and from the Etihad which is worth noting – the taxi drivers must be suffering badly.

Now to the football : City played well, the way the goals were executed was brilliant, it was freezing cold and Newcastle must improve if they are to carry on in the Europa Cup.

Strangely Samir Nasri was given man of the match and although he played well and was probably substituted due to injury,I thought Gareth Barry was superb once again.

It was good to see Kompany & Aguerro back in action. sometimes you don’t realise how much Vinny is missed until he starts playing again and he scored a poachers goal as well.

Aguerro just frightens the life out of defences and we need him fit now for the forthcoming cup games.

For once I thought the referee was extremely competent for a change, Neil Swarbrick, he let the game flow and booked those offenders who required calming down. He also had words with the time wasting goal keeper which is unusual.

Normally United fans don’t appear to discuss favourite games & favourite goals but MUFC appear to be resurrecting the Rooney overhead kick goal for some reason or other, bearing in mind that was two seasons ago, they normally put these nothing’s bed quite quickly.

Are they started to run scared? Food for thought.

City v Bradford (FA Cup) – Sun 5th March [5v0 win]

Michael Cameron and his wife were among the people who headed down to this match.

They did the stadium tour and had a fantastic trip down for the match!

City romped home 5v0 winners with goals: Tevez 11 mins, 31 mins & 50 mins Kolarov 29 mins, Silva 65 mins

Villa v Man City (League) – Tue 04rd March [0v1 win]

A good result and 3 points for City. Tevez scored the winner on 45th minute

City v Chelsea (League) – Sun 25th Feb [2v0 win]

When we beat Chelsea in the Community Shield at the start of the season, I thought we outclassed them and I thought they were very lucky to share the points at the Bridge.

Today we were superb, Joe Hart only had the penalty to save and he managed that very well, overall the defence played really well and another great performance from Kolo Toure.

Even the bar man in the airport bar said both our goals were brilliant which coming from a card carrying Rag is something else. He also pointed out that they have won the league, just agree and patronise them – less painful and it always works.

I couldn’t disagree with City’s MOM choice in James Milner, he is definitely starting to mature this season, he is beating the full back and his mid-field passing is improving with every game.

Yaya was superb and David Silva is working a lot harder off the ball and digging it out for himself – very pleasing. The introduction of Tevez for Rodwell (who put in a good shift ) was probably a game changer, his goal was complete class – he should be on the field every minute of every game in my opinion but is one reason why I’m not the manager.

This quick starting style that City have adopted lately certainly suits them, it’s always dangerous sitting back in the Premiership.

Anyway two happy City fans for the flight home tonight, and yet another great turnout from the Irish supporter clubs today good to see.

I have to miss the Barnsley cup game but will be in the Highland for those who aren’t going to the Etihad, hope to see you then.

C’mon the Blues

City v Everton (League) – Sat 1st Dec [1v1 draw]

Flew down Saturday morning with Steve, David & Kim, only one other City fan on the plane & didn’t get chance to give him our supporters club card. Please try and pass these cards on to other supporters, that’s what we bought them for – I will make sure I pass them on in future.  It can only strengthen the club !!

Chaos & confusion before the game so didn’t get chance to meet anyone for a pre match pint. I stayed at my sisters overnight and went for the train from Flixton to Oxford Rd with the intentions of meeting Steve, unfortunately when the train arrived the Guard decided that it was full so nobody got on. Fortunately I managed to catch a bus bit later. Meanwhile the trams to Steves hotel were not operating and when he eventually got to the hotel he was told the hotel he had booked was 10 minutes walk away. Always leave plenty of time before matches is the moral of the story.

The match was a typical Everton (of old) dour affair – they scored one & Joe Hart made a couple of decent saves. I think we are now starting to suss Everton out, and can now ruffle their feathers which I thought we did quite well on Saturday, especially Felliani who normally is allowed to boss everything and for David Moyes opinion it was definitely a penalty and so were the other 5 that haven’t been given in previous games against The Toffees.

The crowd reaction to Mancinis substitution of Carlos Tevez was poor, but this time he Definitely did get it wrong, Dzecko is not a good starter and I hope Mancini thinks hard about this – it’s starting to cost points.

Tevez apart there great performances from Gareth Barry and Vincent Kompany is leading from the back really well again, Silva is playing too deep at the moment along with Yaya.

Samir Nasri must be in line for a good game soon – it’s about time!

Not had chance to watch the Rags at Reading yet but if the bottom of the league teams can put four past them in the last few games then we

Should be able to do the same or better on Sunday. Fingers crossed.

Watford at home in the FA Cup – should be a City win

Rags away to West Ham a hard one for a change

All the very best for the derby match – enjoy

City v Swansea (League) – Sat 27 Oct [1v0 win]

A tough match against a good Swansea side, Michu had several chances but we kept the clean sheet and got the 3 points thanks to a cracking strike from Tevez.

City v QPR (League) – Sat 01 Sep [3v1 win]

The two sides looked very different from the last time they met on the champions12 Premier League final match but the game followed a similar scenario and screams of happiness for City.

In a frustrating match where City took the lead only to be pegged back gasps of not again came round the stadium. I must admit to being more relaxed at this match, there were no tears, heart spasms or splitting headaches. City were by far the stronger side and possession and chances paid when Dzeko and Tevez scored twice in the second half to finish things off.

Not sure if i would have been so relaxed if Dzeko hadn’t managed to get the equalizer so soon though.

Great performance by the lads and a strong 3 points at home, no clean-sheet being disappointing but it’s early season and I’m sure the defense will improve!

Liverpool v City (League) – Sun 26 Aug [2v2 draw]

A very tough match and a well fought for point at Anfield after coming from behind twice. Liverpool were the better side on the night and but for a gift from Skirtel to put Tevez in on goal we would have been coming away empty handed!

Luckily we never signed him in the summer or we would have been 1 point further back at this point.

City v Southampton (League) – Sun 19 Aug [3v2 win]

First game of the season and I drove down to this match with Des, Scott and Steve.

Tried out our new season tickets and they are in a cracking location together on the half way line.

Almost identical match to the QPR game at the end of last season ending in 3v2 after we took the lead and went behind in the match.

Goals from Tevez, Dzeko and Nasri were enough to seal the 3 points and set City off to a successful start to the season. I can’t handle these 3v2 matches, bring back the 1v0 wins :)

Nasri and YaYa celebrate the end of Ramadan!

City v Chelsea (CS) – Sun 12 Aug [3v2 win]

Watched this match in a pub in Banff when we were away celebrating my mates Birthday, me and my mate Dave nipped off to local pub and what a cracking day we had. Pub was full of friendly locals and a guest appearance from a Elvis impersonator.

Great result and the first piece of silverware this season thanks to great goals from Yaya, Tevez and Nasri.
